About this device

Sometimes ups.beeper.status: disabled disappears from upsc output after invoking beeper.disable or beeper.enable command, but the commands are processed as expected. ups.beeper.status never shown as enabled in upsc report.

When UPS in warning state, beeper.disable does not disable beeper. Beeper could be disabled in this mode only by hardware button.

Setting battery charge works with config file (because upsrw errors out) as in the attached example.

  1. Notification with COMMBAD driver restart

Note

This UPS occasionally disconnects, and driver begins reporting "Data Stale"

As a workaround, in upsmon.conf declare calling the script for COMMBAD:

...
NOTIFYCMD "/home/user/bin/upsmon_notify.sh"
...
NOTIFYFLAG ONLINE       SYSLOG+EXEC
NOTIFYFLAG ONBATT       SYSLOG+EXEC
NOTIFYFLAG LOWBATT      SYSLOG+EXEC
NOTIFYFLAG FSD  SYSLOG+EXEC
NOTIFYFLAG COMMOK       SYSLOG+WALL+EXEC
NOTIFYFLAG COMMBAD      SYSLOG+EXEC
NOTIFYFLAG SHUTDOWN     SYSLOG+EXEC
NOTIFYFLAG REPLBATT     SYSLOG+EXEC
NOTIFYFLAG NOCOMM       SYSLOG+EXEC
NOTIFYFLAG NOPARENT     SYSLOG+EXEC
...

Populate the notification script like this: :; cat /home/user/bin/upsmon_notify.sh

#!/bin/bash
/usr/bin/logger -t NOTIFYCMD "${NOTIFYTYPE} ${UPSNAME}"
if [ "${NOTIFYTYPE}" = "COMMBAD" ]; then
  /usr/bin/logger -t NOTIFYCMD "Restarting upsdrvctl..."
  /sbin/upsdrvctl stop
  /sbin/upsdrvctl -D start
fi

Configure the driver like this: :; cat /etc/nut/ups.conf

maxretry = 3
[RPT-600AP]
   driver = usbhid-ups
   port = auto
   vendorid = 0d9f
